Jimmy Walker – Head Brewer – Breckenridge Brewery
Jimmy is the seasoned head brewer at the iconic Breckenridge Brewery’s original brewpub on Main Street. He’s a local brewing stalwart, having worked at the brewery for well over two decades in roles ranging from bussing tables and bartending to assistant brewer—learning the trade on the job through hands-on experience. After rising to head brewer, Jimmy became known for his experimental edge, shepherding creative small-batch brews—from Buddha’s Hand citrus-infused ales to barrel-aged oatmeal stouts—as well as pushing innovation that often begins at the pub before scaling wider. His longevity and passion embody the spirit of place and craft: “This is our home,” he’s said of the brewpub, underlining how deeply rooted he and his team are in Breckenridge’s beer culture
Jason Ford – Founder – Broken Compass Brewery
Jason is the founder and soul behind Broken Compass Brewing, a dream he turned into reality when he launched the brewery on May 30, 2014 in Breckenridge, Colorado. A former chemical engineer turned creative visionary, Jason left behind corporate management to return to hands-on innovation—where he felt most alive. Under his leadership, Broken Compass quickly became a beloved local hub, celebrated for its inventive flagship beers like Coconut Porter and Ginger Pale Ale—crafted in partnership with his wife Jo—and weekly experimental “One-Off Wednesday” batches. Beyond Broken Compass, he’s also made an impact on the industry, serving as Treasurer of the Colorado Brewers Guild and chairing its Government Affairs Committee, helping promote and protect Colorado craft beer at all levels of government
