Every fantastic festival begins with a memorable experience, and for us, it's food that tells a story. Taste the deep flavors and aromas that make agave and cuisine so special. We welcome Juan Antonio Rodriguez from Don Julio to provide insights into the fermenting process and flavor creation while our Executive Chef shares the food pairing inspirations.- Date: Friday, June 27th, 2025

Juan Antonio Rodriguez – Don Julio
Juan Antonio Rodriguez (Tony) is a versatile and seasoned spirits specialist who found his love for Tequila early on in his career in the industry. After completing his degrees in International Business and Marketing from the University of Texas at El Paso, Tony moved to Houston to begin his first position in the spirits industry as a Multicultural Sales Rep for Republic National Distributing Company. In 2022, Tony became a Brown-Forman Portfolio Specialist where he participated heavily in educating the Houston market on brands like Tequila Herradura and El Jimador.
Throughout his seven years of industry experience working with suppliers like Brown-Forman, Proximo, and Pernod Ricard, Tony has forged relationships and developed a wealth of knowledge about the industry.
Born in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua and raised in El Paso, Texas Tony developed an appreciation for his Mexican heritage and culture early on. Tony views sharing his love and knowledge of Tequila as a labor of love which fits perfectly into Don Julios “Por Amor” view of the industry.
As an educator and advocate for agave spirits, Tony has a mission to make the complex world of tequila accessible to all. He strives to share his love for Mexico’s national spirit by demystifying the art of tequila production and revealing its hidden gems. When Tony isn’t savoring the nuances of tequila or teaching others about its wonders, you’ll find him enjoying the his first passion, Futbol (Soccer). Either spectating or participating, Tony is known for being someone who does not shy away from a shot!
