The Grapes Are Calling…And You Must Go!

THE GRAPES ARE CALLING FROM BRECKENRIDGE

Breckenridge Food and Wine Returns to Benefit Breck Rotary

Main Street Station Plaza and The Village at the base of Peak Nine transform into a tasty, mountain-side vineyard at Breckenridge Food and Wine on Saturday, July 29th to benefit the Breckenridge Mountain Rotary Club.  From the soft and smooth to the unabashedly bold, guests will get more than their fair share of delicious sips. And, so the palate doesn’t get lonely, foodies will appreciate the yummy small dishes available a la carte to accompany each vintage. Sample over 300 wines from Breakthru Beverage Group, learn how to make Mozzarella in thirty minutes, see how to pair a reverse seared tri-tip with a spicy Cabernet, lap-up live music, attend the food and wine pairing dinner, enter to win a trip to Napa Valley or revel in the VIP Experience.  Whatever your flavor, there is something for you.

The weekend begins with the Breckenridge Food and Wine Pairing Dinner on Friday, July 28 at Sauce on the Maggie.  Doors open at 6:30pm with live music by Cal Cramer and Tim Costello.  Taste the deep flavors and aromas that make wine and cuisine so special. From the presentation to the pour, the Wine Specialist will provide rich insights into the pairing process while the featured chef shares the inspiration behind the fare selections.

On Saturday, the big tasting gets underway at 1:00pm for VIP’s and 2:00pm – 6:00pm for general admission ticket holders.  Although, the event is more than just your average “wine sampling.”  This year, the festival has expanded beyond its borders at Main Street Station to include The Village at Breckenridge making room for more varietals, artisans, food and even a few beer selections and wine cocktail mixers.   Guests will also enjoy performances on two stages by John Truscelli and Russick Smith, Quantum Jazz, Phat Daddy and a special appearance by the Mobile Piano Man.  Wine and Whey will be on-site to share cheese-making tips while Big Country BBQ works their magic on the grill for a live, cooking demonstration.  Breckenridge Mountain Rotary will host a silent auction to raise important funds for their continued humanitarian efforts.  And, for those who will like to bring the family along, kids will be entertained by living statues and activities while Mountain Top Children’s Museum will be on-site with face painting.

On Sunday, Brunch and Vines at Sauce on the Maggie kicks off at 11:00am and shows guests how to relish the bubbly and celebrate the vine.  Leading women in the world of wine will be on-site to share their insights on the industry while guests savor specialty white wine mixers like sangrias and mimosas paired with delicious food.

You deserve something perfectly, out of the ordinary.  Connect with tickets to Breckenridge Food and Wine and see the complete schedule at www.breckwinefest.com.

Things are Looking Up for the Sunday Market

The Breckenridge Sunday Market is bigger and better than ever, thanks to an expansion that now includes The Village at Breckenridge, just above Main Street Station.

Carrie Benefiel, the Director of Rocky Mountain Events and The Breckenridge Sunday Market said, “Two incredible event spaces that surround Maggie Pond at the base of Peak Nine are coming together for the community.  With the Village partnership, we not only have the ability to better serve Colorado agriculture and to support small businesses, but we also have a stronger platform to offer more family activities, educational resources, non-profit activation, sponsorships and booth spaces. I am thrilled to launch a wellness series for the market as well as fun, brain-teasing, and interactive games for the kids from Mountain Top Children’s Museum.”

The market will include adventures on Maggie Pond like stand up paddle board rentals, a stellar live music lineup as well as a weekly live broadcast from American Veteran’s Radio.  The next time you are in the market footprint, don’t forget to look up!  There are several more artisans, vendors, specialty foods, and fresh produce in the Village Plaza.   Trust us.  You will be glad that you did!

A Bigger Taste of Breckenridge Food and Wine

Breckenridge Food and Wine just got bigger thanks to a partnership between festival producers, Rocky Mountain Events and The Village at Breckenridge. If you have attended the event in the past at Main Street Station, you already know its an absolute blast! If you haven’t, it’s your chance to see why Breckenridge Food and Wine is one of Summit County’s best events.

A sell-out crowd visits festival wineries at Main Street Station Plaza next to Maggie Pond.

The Bigger, The Better

In 2016, the festival was busting at the seams with sell-out participation in Main Street Station Plaza and a high demand for more tickets.  “Expanding the footprint also to include The Village at Breckenridge located directly above the existing space, just makes sense,” says Director of Rocky Mountain Events, Carrie Benefiel.  “The festival will still hold its unique, mountain town charm while guests will experience shorter lines, elbow room, and more wine!  Tasters will be glad to know that they are getting their fill and then some.  High fives all around.”

Attendees receive a commemorative glass and unlimited wine samples until their heart’s content.

The Village Homeowner’s Association General Manager Nathan Nosari says, “The Village at Breckenridge is excited to partner with Rocky Mountain Events as our renovated Plaza provides the perfect venue to allow existing Main Street Station events to evolve into premier festivals for an enhanced experience for Breckenridge locals and guests.”

Rocky Mountain Events still anticipates a sell-out event for wine tasting participation.  Benefiel shares, “Breckenridge Food and Wine is so attractive overall.  The scenery, the music, the wine community and the festival atmosphere all merge to create an experience that is forever memorable; a masterpiece.  Our wine partner, Breakthru Beverage Colorado, is well-connected with the top wineries worldwide. Their specialists and attitude make attendees crave to be a part of the event again and again.  It’s incredible!”

Breckenridge Food and Wine below Peak Nine is one of the most scenic festival locations in Colorado.

Benefiel added, “Tickets are pacing well ahead of last season’s numbers.  We recommend purchasing your passes early not only to save money but to make sure that you don’t miss the opportunity to be part of a very special year for Breckenridge Food and Wine.”

Breckenridge Food and Wine isn’t the only event that will stretch its borders.  The Breckenridge Sunday Market and Breckenridge HogFest Bacon and Bourbon have the green light to incorporate Main Street Station Plaza and The Village.

Junior Snow Sculpture Lands in Breckenridge

Saturday, January 28th
11:00am – 2:00pm

Kids get rare chance to learn from top snow artists!

Main Street Station, Breckenridge (Monday, January 16th, 2017): Imagination comes to life through the magic of snow, and little hands.  The Main Street Station Junior Snow Sculpture will be held in the Main Street Station Plaza, near the stage on Saturday, January 28th from 11:00am until 2:00pm.  The event is free and recommended for children, ages nine and up to help kick-off the Breckenridge International Snow Sculpting viewing.

This year’s theme will focus on animals!  After all, snowmen are just too mainstream.  Young participants will use the same type of snow that the big competitors use, and will learn the basics of snow sculpting in an enjoyable environment.  Instruction will be led by one of Breckenridge’s own artists and sculpting extraordinaire, Mauricio Meneses.   Rick Seeley, constructor of the “World’s Largest Snow Fort” at Keystone Resort and part of the professional snow sculpting group “The Flake Benders”, will also be helping the kids to channel their creativity using simple tools to form snowy shapes.

In case you were wondering, the Main Street Station Junior Snow Sculpture event is not a competition.  It is however, a chance for kids to learn a constructive and inventive way to appreciate snow from talented teachers who know a thing or two about sculpture and how to have artful fun outdoors!  Be ready to see amazing creations in your yard after the next snowfall.

WARNING: The Main Street Station Junior Snow Sculpture could provoke creativity, excitement and the impulse for children to play outside during the winter.  Please register and review the tips at www.rockymtnevents.com before joining in and then bring your kiddos for a fun-filled day of AWESOME!

Snow Sculpture Instructor – Mauricio Meneses

Originally from Guatemala City, Mauricio Meneses moved to Colorado at eighteen. He was not a stranger to the art scene in his country and kicked off his career when he won his first national art award at just seventeen.  Soon after, he began traveling the world to study and discover different creative techniques, having the opportunity to expand his skills in places like South Korea, Hong Kong, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, the UK, Netherlands, France and Malta. Education and sharing his passion are now two of his greatest joys! For the past three years, Mauricio has been applying his experience working with local venues, teaching watercolor and creating beautiful snow art throughout Breckenridge.
